Courtney’s Story
A few weeks ago there was an unexpected visitor at our Green Gables building. Courtney had left our supported accommodation in 2016 after spending almost a year with us. At the time, she had secured permanent accommodation, started a new relationship and her daughter was 7 months old.
Courtney had recently moved back to the area and called at the office with a thank you card. After becoming emotional on seeing her project worker 3 and half years later, she explained that she was still in the same relationship, her daughter was now 4 and she had given birth to another child in December!
Courtney is well and content; she explained that she had found employment as a carer up until giving birth to her son. Courtney’s daughter, the baby she had left our accommodation with was due to start school in September! Both are developing well; Courtney is in a stable relationship and has aspirations for the future.
Courtney would definitely recommend our supported accommodation and whilst she was with us she developed skills in managing finances, budgeting and learnt what was important. Courtney said that she didn’t know where she would be today without our support.
Well done Courtney and best of luck with your future ventures!
